Laws & regulations that affect owl education

The laws in each country have a significant impact on what methods can be used to teach people about owls. In several countries it is illegal to use live owls in educational programs, and in some countries dead specimens cannot even be used. It is legal to have owls as pets in a few countries, which is a consideration if you would like to use live owls in your programs since some people may be inspired to get one as a pet after seeing a live owl used in an educational program.

This chart is a work in progress. If you have information about other countries not listed, please send us an email so they can be added to the list.
