International Owl Awareness Day Celebration

We will have an OPEN HOUSE at the Owl Center in honor of International Owl Awareness Day plus other activities around Houston! Admission is free, but donations of non-perishable food items for the Houston Community Food Shelf are appreciated. 

Owl Center open 10:00 - 5:00
--30-minute programs at the Owl Center:
11:00:  Owl Detectives - local species* (Jo)
12:00: Frequently Asked Owl Questions (Andie)

1:00:  So You Want to Be an Owl (Jo)
2:00:  Plans for the new International Owl Center facility (Karla)

3:00:  Responsible Owl Observation (Andie)
4:00:  Barn Owl Acoustic Research (Karla)
Door prizes to help you live a more owl-friendly life.

*Please note that many programs may be standing room only, with the 11:00 AM program expected to be the most crowded and those later in the day the least crowded.

AROUND TOWN:
Owl House (109 W Plum St): Take home international children's owl art previously displayed at the Owl Center for $50 donation (location not wheelchair accessible; credit cards, cash, checks & Venmo accepted)
Houston Nature Center (215 W Plum St): Garage sale of alllllll kinds of owl items (cash, check or Venmo only)
Owl City Cycles (111 E Cedar St): Drawing for children's owl bicycle, owl-themed bike gear for sale
River Valley Convenience (103 E Cedar St): Owl-themed ice cream
Barista's Coffee House (110 N Grant St): Owl-themed beverages
JT's Corner Bar & Grill (125 E Cedar St): Winking Owl wine available
