Breakfast with the Owls
to raise funds for the next step toward the future home of the International Owl Center.
8:30 - 11:30 AM Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church
Houston, Minnesota is home to the only all-owl education center in the United States, the Root River Trail, beautiful wooded hillsides filled with owls and other birds, and some fantastic food producers of whom you may not be aware. This mouth-watering meal will introduce you to more of what makes the Owl Center proud to be located in this rural and wild area.
Locally sourced 2019 menu:
*Buckwheat Shortcake Fruit Tart with Paskha Goat Cheese
*Pinwheel Quiche with Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms, Spinach and Gruyère Cheese
*Wild Boar Bacon
*Beverages: Strawberry Shrub and Locally Roasted Fair Trade Coffee
Ingredients sourced from:
-Buckwheat and white flour, grown locally and ground at Schech's Mill, which still operates with its original 1876 equipment
-Eggs from Ethan's Eggs
-Shiitake mushrooms from Brian Lee
-Goat cheese from Marge Kitchen and Karyl Dronen
-Uhu Brew Coffee from Carlson Roasting Company
-Wild boar bacon from Buffalo Gal
-Strawberries from Wold Strawberry Farm (Spring Grove, MN)

9:15-10:15 AM: Family-style sit-down breakfast

Bring your wallet so you can participate in the live auction. All funds raised will be used for acquisition of the Owl Center's future site, so be generous for this great cause! (Email us to bid by proxy if you can't attend in person.)

-Two places at the table at the special guest dinner at Ron and Rae Evenson's house the Thursday evening before the International Festival of Owls
-One night stay with breakfast for two at the Hilton - Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America
-Chocolate bourbon pecan pie made by Sue Fletcher, Owl Center Educator
-Kahlua brownies made by Jo Hidaka, awesome Owl Center volunteer
-Burrowing Owl Banding Adventure in Oregon

Everyone who attends will get to select a piece of children's owl artwork from around the world to take home.
Cost to participate in this morning of feathers, fine dining, fun, and fundraising is $75/person or $600 for a table of 8. Click here to register online (no additional fees for online registration.)
